Scroll Bar N/A

A scroll bar allows you to view different rows of data in a multi-valued field or to view multiple rows of data in an effective dated table or panel.

Security Group User Class

The group that controls the entry of a particular item. Security in Student Financials can be at the item type level. The group is a node on a tree, which translates to a group of operator IDs.

Server N/A

A computer on a network that manages network resources. For example, a file server is a computer and storage device dedicated to storing files. Any user on the network can store files on the server. A print server is a computer that manages one or more printers, and a network server is a computer that manages network traffic. A database server is a computer system that that processes database queries.

Service Center N/A

Centers created to share HR-related work transactions. Service centers standardize routine transactions at a single location, allowing more efficiency throughout the institution and more convenient access to services for employees to meet their employment needs.

Service Indicator Negative='Hold'

A service indicator may be negative or positive. Negative indicators act as holds on specific services provided by the institution; positive indicators enhance a student's eligibility or participation in a service.

SetID N/A

Collection of tables used to group general processing type tables. For the University, SetIDs generally will correspond to Academic Institutions and Business Units.

Sibling N/A

A tree node at the same level as another node, where both roll up into the same parent. A node can be a sibling, parent, and child all at the same time, depending on its location in the tree.

SQR N/A

Structured Query Report Writer; a software tool used to create reports or move data.

Standard Letter Code N/A

A code used to define the MS Word letter templates used for mail merge functions. Every letter that is sent should have a standard letter code as identification.

Stat Code N/A

This field will be used to record statistical information used for analytical and non-financial reporting. (No equivalent FRS field.) One of the ChartFields.

Student ID N/A

Sub-Department N/A

Within a department, lowest level for which faculty/staff and financial information must be grouped for organizational reporting purposes; normally under the direction of a manager or director. Must have faculty and/or staff assigned to it.

Subject Area Curriculum

A subject area is a specific area of instruction within an academic organization. Subject areas are the subject matter headings that appear in the Course Catalog and Schedule of Classes (See Academic Subject Area).
