Terminology

Local Area Network - a computer network that spans a relatively small area. Most LANs are confined to a single building or group of buildings. However, one LAN can be connected to other LANs over any distance via telephone lines and radio waves.

A physical place or address, usually associated with a building cluster. For the University, locations will be used to specify satellite locations where off-campus classes are offered. In Student Financials, location is the physical register number at a window.
